How our soap is made

Each bar is handcrafted in small batches in Fayetteville, North Carolina. Oils and butters are combined and saponified, then the bars are cured so they are gentle, long-lasting, and ready to use. Because every batch is made by hand, each bar is one of a kind.

Common base ingredients

Most bars are built on a nourishing base that may include:

• Plant oils such as olive oil and coconut oil for gentle cleansing and a creamy lather.
• Butters such as shea butter or cocoa butter for moisture and a smooth, conditioning feel.
• Water or botanical infusions.
• Sodium hydroxide (lye), which is essential to turn oils into soap. After curing, no lye remains in the finished bar.

Scent, color, and botanicals

• Fragrance: bars are scented with essential oils and/or skin-safe fragrance oils, depending on the scent.
• Color: natural colorants such as clays, botanical powders, and activated charcoal, or skin-safe micas.
• Additives: select bars include botanicals or skin-loving extras such as oatmeal, dried herbs, flower petals, or honey.

Allergy and sensitivity notes

• Some bars may contain common allergens such as coconut, tree nut butters (like shea or cocoa), oats, or honey.
• Essential oils and fragrance oils can irritate sensitive skin. If you have allergies, sensitivities, or a skin condition, check the label or ask us before purchasing.
• We recommend a patch test on a small area of skin before first use. Discontinue use if irritation occurs.
• Consult your healthcare provider before use if you are pregnant, nursing, or using the product on young children.

Safety

• For external use only. Avoid contact with eyes; if contact occurs, rinse thoroughly with water.
• Keep out of reach of children and pets. Some bars look and smell like treats but are not edible.
• Our soaps are cosmetic products and are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease or skin condition.

Caring for your bar

• Store your soap on a draining soap dish and away from direct streams of water between uses.
• Letting the bar dry fully between uses helps it last much longer.
• Store extra bars in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight to preserve color and scent.
• For best scent, use within about 12 months. Natural soap does not spoil, but fragrance may soften over time.
